Veronica A. LaJoie (Anishinaabe/Ojibwe) was raised near the shores of Lake Superior, and is affiliated with the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe. She grew up on values tied to the land and community service.

Veronica holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Minnesota and has over a decade of experience in Native health and education. Her work focuses on building programs grounded in the values, strengths, and self-determination of Indigenous communities.

Her work has included advocacy and outreach for health initiatives, advancing STEM pathways, strengthening Tribal relations, promoting Indigenous-centered curricula, guiding programming focused on food sovereignty, working for data sovereignty, and leading evaluation approaches. She draws from her background in both science and art to promote culturally grounded, community-driven solutions.

Outside of work, Veronica is a mother, artist, and runner who believes healing is a daily practice carried through traditions, movement, and making. She is committed to trauma-informed, Indigenous-led approaches that create space for connection, reflection, and collective well-being.
